Reiki Community Outreach and Reiki Share Programs
| A wonderful aspect about Reiki is the spirit of sharing it promotes among practitioners. You can share Reiki by sending Reiki or by treating someone personally, or by receiving a group Reiki treatment yourself. If you would like to develop these skills or want to meet like-minded people, then come and join one of our monthly Reiki Practitioner Sharing Groups or become involved in our community outreach activities. All Reiki lineages and levels are accepted. Please bring a copy of your Reiki certificate or your VRA membership card. |

What is Reiki Community Outreach?
The Vermont Reiki Association strives to help individuals, families and communities as they deal with the complex issues that surround our communities. We work side-by-side with community members, and we are committed to partnerships that restore health, promote compassion, and extend companionship to those who need it.
As part of its mission, the VRA is implementing a Reiki Outreach Program. The service is a voluntary and partnership program that provides alternative healthcare therapies for those in various communities (Hospitals, Hospice Centers, Homeless Shelters, Women's Shelters, Assisted Living Facilities, Recovery Programs, Nursing Homes, Animal Shelters, etc.) that could not otherwise afford or access these services.
We consider outreach programs such as these to be one of the most crucial and beneficial activities of Reiki Practitioners. For this reason, volunteers play an extremely important role in providing these services to their communities. If you, would like to find out about becoming a Reiki practitioner community outreach volunteer, contact info@vermontreikiassociation.org. The area code for all telephone numbers is 802, unless otherwise noted.

What is a Reiki Practitioner Share?
A Reiki Share or “Reiki Circle” or “Reiki Exchange” is a gathering of Reiki practitioners who join for a combination social/healing session. It can last anywhere from 2-4 hours or be an all day event. It depends on who is hosting the share and how many people attend. The concept of a "share" is for practitioners to participate in giving and receiving Reiki in an atmosphere of friendship and love. Participating in a share is a beneficial way of honoring one another as healers.
A Reiki share usually consists of several Reiki practitioners working on one individual at a time. The person receiving the Reiki is fully clothed and laying on a massage table, and the Reiki practitioners gather around the person and provide a Reiki treatment. These sessions are performed in silence, and only Reiki is practiced during a Reiki share. Group Reiki sessions are often stronger and can be deeper than individual sessions. It is a marvelous and often profound experience!
