Board member & VRA Secretary
Judy Holmes (she/her) has been a Sports and Orthopedic physical therapist for over 38 years. She has a BS in Zoology from San Diego State University and a MS in PT from Duke University. She has worked as a volunteer PT for US Figure Skating for 30 years and has been privileged to travel with the team each year. She worked with the team at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Canada. She is currently on their Sports Science and Medicine Committee and is a previous Vice Chair of Research and Education. She worked as a volunteer EMT for the Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance (now MREMS) for several years and served on the board of the ambulance. She is a CPR/First Aid instructor.
Judy has been practicing Reiki for a little over 4 years. She completed her level 3 in October of 2018. She completed all her training in Reiki and Animal Reiki with Kelly McDermott-Burns. She joined the VRA in 2016. She is a member of SARA and has volunteered at Homeward Bound in Middlebury and the Rutland County Humane Society for the past 4 years. She shares Reiki with the animals of friends and neighbors. She was holding Reiki Shares at her PT office every other month but these have been suspended due to the pandemic, hopefully they will begin again sometime in 2021.
She is originally from Chula Vista, California, and lived in the Bay Area for 9 years, while her husband attended Berkeley for his PhD, before moving to Vermont 21 years ago.
