Membership Renewal Policy
All memberships have a one-year term. The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for maintaining up to date membership records. The Membership Coordinator (or designated person) will send 3 email renewal reminders at the following intervals:
If no response to the above reminders has occurred 30 days after the member's renewal date, the member will be considered a Lapsed Member, their name will be removed from the VRA webpage (if applicable), member benefits will cease, and they will be placed on the “Lapsed Member” list. The Administrative Coordinator (or designated person) will maintain a Lapsed Member list, including contact information. The VRA Board will send 3-4 emails/year to this list inviting lapsed members to renew and highlighting VRA activity.
Renewal forms will solicit updated contact information including email, physical address, business name, business webpage, and phone numbers. Renewals can take place online using the “Renew Your Membership” button on the VRA Home page, or by mailing a check and completed Membership Form to the Administrative Coordinator.
First-time memberships, including a copy of the appropriate Reiki Certificate, dues, and completed Membership Form, will be mailed to the Administrative Coordinator.
- One month prior to the membership expiration date an email reminder will be sent.
- On the member's expiration date, if no response from the first email, a second email will be sent, then a final email to member at end of 2nd month of expired date indicating removal from the membership list, newsletter list and webpage (if applicable) if no response within 30 days from the date of membership expiration.

Membership Code of Ethics
- Abide by a vow of confidentiality. Any information that is discussed within the context of a Reiki session is confidential between client and the Practitioner.
- Provide a safe and comfortable area for the client sessions and work to provide an empowering and supportive environment for clients.
- Always treat clients with the utmost respect and honor.
- Provide a brief oral or written description of what happens during a session and what to expect before a client’s initial session.
- Be respectful of all other’s Reiki views and paths. Educate clients on the value of Reiki and explain that sessions do not guarantee a cure, nor are they a substitute for qualified medical or professional care. Reiki is one part of an integrated healing or wellness program.
- Suggest a consultation or referral to qualified licensed professionals (medical doctor, certified massage therapist, etc.) when appropriate.
- Never diagnose or prescribe. Never suggest that the client change prescribed treatment or interfere with treatment of a licensed health care provider.
- Never ask clients to disrobe (unless in the context of a Certified Massage Therapist). Be sensitive to the boundary needs of individual clients. Do not touch the genital area or the breasts. Practice hands off healing of these areas if treatment is needed.
- Be actively working on your own healing to embody and fully express the essence of Reiki in everything that you do.
